After struggling against cancer for around 2 years, my eldest sister, Rini, finally passed away a month ago on 5th February 2009 at 07.30 a.m. in Jogja. It’s sad to know that she has gone. But, knowing how she suffered from her sickness and pain, I think it’s better for her now, because she has rested in peace and does not feel any pain anymore. Moreover, I am sure that actually she is not going anywhere, as she will always be in my heart.
A few days ago, I received a post card from my close friend, Julia Becker in Germany and she wrote to me the wise words :“Rini is always alive in your heart, and through her character, her habits, her dreams, and her opinions, she has helped to shape you”. Thank you for reminding me, Julia. I believe that the death of someone who is close to us, is also part of our learning into completion. Although, sometimes maybe we translate it into “incompletion” due to our ego of being lost. But indeed, this “incompletion” is also part of completion, since we actually have grown up and we have changed to be more mature and more independent, not only because of the presence, but also the lost of this person.
Thanks a lot for everything my dear sister, Rini. You have left so many meaningful moments and beautiful memories from the time I knew you, till the time you were gone. Those are precious and indispensable values which will always stay in my heart. I wish you have a good rest in peace now. I love you.
